McKenna scored two of her tries in the second half

England began their International Women’s Rugby Series campaign with a resounding 53-10 victory over Australia at Porirua Park, New Zealand.

Wing Sarah McKenna scored a hat-trick of tries and Kay Wilson crossed twice, with four conversions from Emily Scott.

Izzy Noel-Smith, Abbie Scott, Vicky Fleetwood and Harriet Millar-Mills also scored as England hit back from conceding a try in the third minute.

Their next match in the four-team event is against Canada on Tuesday.
